Inspect the clamp ring springs
Why this matters The clamp ring is the only thing holding the top of a pressurised filter tank on. Pentair asks for this check at least once a month, and it is one of the few genuinely safety-related items in a pool routine. ## What to do 1. Stop the pump and release all pressure at the air relief valve before touching anything. 2. Look at the spring coils on the clamp ring bolt. 3. They should be under visible tension and evenly spaced — not collapsed, not fully compressed, not corroded through. If a spring looks tired, replace it before the next time you open the tank.
