Replace the ProClarity and ProClear II cartridges

The pleated cartridges have a real replacement date

Your J-400 uses two pleated cartridges — the ProClarity™ primary and the ProClear™ II skimming cartridge. Jacuzzi says to clean each one monthly and replace both every 18 months.

Monthly, between replacements

Rinse the pleats with a garden hose, working top to bottom, one section at a time. The ProClarity filter canister can be rinsed at the same time. The primary cartridge goes back on the side closest to the front of the spa.

At 18 months

Replace both pleated cartridges — sooner if the pleats are permanently flattened, the fibres are shredding, or an end cap is cracked. A tired cartridge passes debris straight through no matter how clean it looks.

While you are in there

Check and empty the ProClarity debris bag monthly, and remember the separate ProClarity Depth filter is on its own 3-month replacement — do not wash either of those two.
